White House Biennial (international online platform)
The White House Biennial (www.whitehousebiennial.com) is an international, interactive platform created by Nicos Charalambidis, which presents interventions and proposals submitted by both established and emergent Greek and foreign artists. By raising a number of crucial questions about modern politics and the social and economic reality, it aspires to establish a constructive dialogue between artists, the audience and decision makers, investing in the communicative and interventionist function of art. A defining characteristic of this unique project, which is the first Internet-based Biennial in the world, is the creation of gateways connecting the houses of the artists with the official residence of the President of the United States, in an attempt to interact with the White House.
The Red and White Flag Project
a project by Nicos Charalambides
The Red and White flag project is another one creative call of the White House Biennial (the first online Biennial). The participant artists are invited, this time, to design and produce their own flag choosing among two basic colors: the Red (for Revolution) and the White (for Peace). The final outcomes are going to be installed at the Oval Office.
